WEAVE CARE 101
PEPPERS TIPS FOR A HELLA GOOD WEAVE
CERTIFICATION STATION!
Please ensure you are only sitting in Certified Technicians chairs! Extension installations might appear simple enough to recreate at home.. Unfortunately, the truth is that it's not what meets the eye! It takes a lot of time and training to give your guests the best, most comfortable, and safest extensions on the market today. The point is, if you see someone who doesn't know what they're doing for permanent extension services, it could mean real, serious damage that might not always be reversible! Is that something you're willing to risk?! I hope not.
WASHING
Brush your hair before you get it wet, unless you have your bags packed for tangletown! Wash your new tresses no more than twice a week. Use warm water to shampoo, and cool water to rinse the conditioner. Use ONLY the product and styling aids recommended to you by your stylist, THEY KNOW WHATS UP. If your hair feels heavy, waxy, or if your scalp is itchy, use a clarifying shampoo followed by a deep conditioner! COOL WATER RINSE BABY.
SLEEPING
Never sleep with wet hair! You'll likely wake up with a frizzy, kinky mess! Best to blow it dry a minimum of 90% before BEAUTY REST! Eliminate as much friction as possible, and be extra silky by braiding, or twisting it!
Sleep on silk! Step one to waking up “like this!” This helps to control frizz, add shine, & keep your style. It also helps reduce signs of aging, so this one is both luxury and necessity. USE a Pepper Luxury Silk Pillowcase, of course!
EXCERCISE/ACTIVITY
Doing any activities that cause an excessive amount of perspiration is one of the main causes of tangling and matting! If you notice a tangle or slight knot, we recommend that you start from the inner side of your hair-extensions and work outwards until it's been tamed.
**Detangling Instructions
Clipping half your hair in an up-do will allow you to work from the inside of your hair-extension and out. As you hold down the point of installation with one hand, use the other hand to brush from the mid shaft all the way down to your ends. Repeat until your entire head has been nicely brushed. Use only a Wet Brush or a very large toothed comb for this.
VACATION
Before you hit the beach, TIE UP YOUR HAIR! Any contact with tanning lotion or spray may cause color alterations to your hair-extensions. Before visiting a tanning salon tie your hair in an up-do and using a plastic cap will help avoid direct contact.
Prior to any contact with the ocean, lake, or chlorine water, we recommend keeping your hair as neat and tight as you can: tight French braids, a ballerina bun. Damp your hair with water and a slight coat of conditioner. This will prevent your hair from soaking up harsh chemicals or minerals. When you leave the ocean, lake, or pool, make sure to wash your hair in lukewarm water followed by a generous amount of deep conditioner!
BRUSHING INSTRUCTIONS
It is extremely important to understand that brushing is an essential part in maintaining the longevity of your hair-extensions. Since all brushes are not created equally, we highly recommend that all extension users brush with Pepper's Perfect Paddle Brush. It's a hybrid between a Wet Brush for tangles, and a boar bristle brush for maintaining your style. It's gentle yet mighty!
Brush your hair extensions!
HOW?
Brush your hair-extensions while you hold down on the point of installation with one hand, use the other hand to brush from the mid shaft all the way down to your ends. Repeat as necessary
Remember
If you notice a tangle or slight knot, we recommend that you start from the inner side (by your neck) of your hair-extensions and work outwards. Make sure to start at the bottom of the tangle and progress upward as you tackle them.
HAIR DRYING INSTRUCTIONS
Try to let your hair air dry as much as possible, mama! But if you must use heat, make sure you ALWAYS use a heat protector, and make sure it is salon quality. Don't skip this step! Use your blowdryer with a nozzle on it, in a downward motion along your hairs surface until it is dry.
LASTLY
But certainly not least, be a good girl! Get your extensions Moved Up as per your stylists suggestion. The most damage you can do is allowing too much regrowth between your scalp and weft!
